According to UNEP, manufacturers and consumers produce 400 million tonnes of plastic waste annually. The USA alone creates an estimated 300 million pounds of plastic waste for pet supplies products annually; from food and treat bags to packaging for toys, accessories, and more.
Unfortunately, microplastics have been found in our lungs, livers, spleens, and kidneys. A study recently detected microplastics in the placentas of newborn babies. However, the full extent of this impact on human health is still unknown. We aim to save lives.
By 2050, global waste generation is expected to reach 3.4 billion metric tons – an increase of 74 percent. We have a ‘zero-waste pet industry’ vision. We have already made plans to materialize this vision, and taken steps toward a ‘healthier’ future. Our goal is to launch guilt-free sustainable solutions to the 10 most popular pet products by 2028.
